I think I wanna marry you [Trine]

If Loki said he wasn't nervous, that would be an understatement. Today was going to be a milestone in his life and he was terrified. There were so many things that could go wrong with this and he didn't know what would happen if it went terribly wrong. See, he and Trine both moved to New York to start a life together. She got a job with the NYPD and he got a job at a local shop and he couldn't be happier. He loved New York. He loved it at night and he loved it during the day. He couldn't imagine himself living anywhere by NYC now. 

Things were going great between he and Trine. They were in love and things were getting better and better by the second. They were together for over a year now and he couldn't see himself with anyone else but her and he didn't want to be with anyone else but her. That is what has led him to this night. He had rose petals laid on the floor in the apartment,leading from the door to the bedroom. The petals stopped at the bed with a note on it. 

My dearest Trine,

I can't believe how far we've come and how we met. Who would have thought a criminal would fall in love with a cop and win her heart. You've  put up with me through everything, even though we get on each others nerves over stupid stuff. There are so many things that I wish I could say but I think what's about to happen will say it all. Turn around...

[TRINE EMERY CHAMBERLAIN]

Trine said goodbye to her coworkers and hopped on her motorcycle. Another case was solved and she could relax until she had to look over the next one... which would be tomorrow. But Trine loved a fast paced lifestyle so she couldn't complain too much.
She would have never guessed she'd be living in New York City with the love of her life, yet here she was. There were times she thought this wouldn't last but she had to remind herself to take it one day at a time.

Trine parked her bike in the garage and sighed as the elevator doors closed. She did miss being able to just walk into her house, but the skyline in the morning made the walk worth it. Honestly all she wanted to do was go to sleep after she and Loki caught each other up on the events of the day. She opened the door and looked around. "Loki, I'm home," she called. She frowned when she didn't hear an answer. She'd seen his car. so where was he? If he was hiding with some other woman... Trine had to force herself to not jump to conclusions. There had been no evidence that Loki was cheating. Suddenly she noticed the rose petals on the floor and her eyebrows raised in surprise. "What in the world...?" She followed the trail into the bedroom and picked up the note. She placed her keys on the dresser and sat on the end of the bed to read. She couldn't help but smile at the touching words. Now she was getting a little suspicious as to what this whole thing was about. She stood up and turned around like the note had instructed.

Loki watched from afar as Trine walked down the hallway to the bedroom. He knew that she had no idea what was going to happen but he knew that she would have either a) jumped to the wrong conclusions or b) become suspicious about what was going on. Either way, it could work to his advantage. As she disappeared into the bedroom, Loki followed behind her. He hid behind the door until her back was turned to the door. Once she was reading the note, he went in the room and he got in position. He knelt down on one knee and he opened the ring box with a beautiful ring inside.

Loki was sweating bullets this was it. She was going to make him the happiest guy on earth, or if she said no, the most crushed guy on earth. Loki watched as she smiled reading what he had wrote. He could have gone on and on about them. But he doubt she would have wanted to read about it. Loki saw her turn around and he smiled up at her. "Trine, will you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife? Trine will you marry me?" Loki said, his voice shaking. He was so nervous about what her answer was going to be.

Trine jumped back slightly. She wasn't expecting to see Loki right behind her. It took her a moment to notice the position he was in and the box he held in his hands. Her eyes widened and she gasped slightly. Not many people could sneak up on her or take her completely off-guard, so she wasn't really sure how to handle this moment.
"Is this a prank?" She asked softly, not quite believing her eyes. The ring was beautiful, and it was completely her. She was very picky when it came to the kind of jewelry she wore, but this ring was her dream ring, and it reminded her of them. It had one emerald heart on top of a line of small diamonds and an emerald heart on the bottom. It reminded her of their green eyes and their life together.

But she was so scared this was a prank. She didn't want to make a fool of herself. "If this isn't a joke, then yes! Of course I'll marry you!" She felt her eyes begin to water and she laughed in disbelief that she was crying. She wasn't one to cry.

Loki knew that no one was able to sneak up on Trine so when he was able to, it was fantastic. It made this all worth it. He saw her jump back and he knew his plan worked. He had wanted to take her off guard. He wanted her to be completely baffled and surprised. He heard her gasp and he smiled up at her with a genuine smile.

"No baby it's not a prank," Loki said laughing slightly. "That would be a really cruel prank." Loki would never prank someone like this. That would just be mean. Loki knew that he picked out the right ring. He knew her style and what she liked so when he found this ring, he knew it was the ring. Something that she would cherish for a long time. At least he hoped so.

Loki heard what she said and he smiled up at her. He saw the tears and he couldn't believe he made her cry. Loki took the ring out of the box. He took her left hand and slid the ring onto her ring finger. He kissed the ring and then stood up, kissing her softly.
